WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR REFUGEES? ΤΙ ΜΠΟΡΕΙ ΝΑ ΚΑΝΕΙ ΤΟ DESIGN ΓΙΑ ΤΟΥΣ ΠΡΟΣΦΥΓΕΣ;

Αυτή είναι η ερώτηση που καλούνται να απαντήσουν σχεδιαστές σε όλο τον κόσμο, συμμετέχοντας στον διαγωνισμό «What design can do: Refugee Chalenge»Ο διαγωνισμός διοργανώνεται από το ΙΚΕΑ, την Γενική Γραμματεία για τους Πρόσφυγες των Ηνωμένων Εθνών και την διαδικτυακή πλατφόρμα What Design Can Do και 5 νικητές θα κερδίσουν μέχρι και 10.000 ευρώ.

Σκοπός είναι να προκύψουν προτάσεις που θα είναι εφικτές και υλοποιήσιμες ώστε να βελτιωθεί η ποιότητα ζωής των προσφύγων στις αστικές περιοχές και τα σημεία συγκέντρωσης.

Being a designer, what can you do to improve the reception and integration of refugees in urban areas? This is the basic question of the global What Design Can Do Refugee Challenge, a design competition organized by design platform What Design Can Do,UNHCR and IKEA Foundation. Designers, artists and imaginative trouble-shooters from all countries and disciplines are all invited to take part. Register on the challenge platform to submit your idea.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
Besides making a difference in the lives of urban refugees, your idea could win 10,000 euros in funding. During What Design Can Do 2016, the five best entries will be awarded 10,000 euro each along with expert advice and our guidance in developing their concepts into feasible plans. Both new ideas and existing concepts that deserve further elaboration are eligible, and you may enter as many ideas as you like. WHY THIS CHALLENGE?
What Design Can Do (WDCD) is an Amsterdam-based design platform that advocates the social impact of design. The current refugee crisis is one of the most urgent and complex issues of our time. It needs all the creative problem-solving that we can mobilize. The WDCD Refugee Challenge appeals to designers of all kinds to pool together their brightest, boldest ideas to help make a difference where it is direly needed; specifically refugees in cities, as 60 per cent of the world’s 20 million refugees now live in urban areas.
